Winter is a great time to buy a new boat. Here's why:

• More time to browse: Winter is boat-show season - great time to see all the models, styles and options all in one place. Browse the show floor and ask lots of questions to find the right make, model and style. Buying a new boat in the winter allows you to customize color and options to get the best boat for your buck. Watch for boat show promotions that offer great discounts on new models.
• Better Prices: Boat manufacturers release next year's models in August, so boat dealers want to clear this year's inventory to make room. Manufacturers offer enticing rebates and incentives to help move last year's models out of the dealership and keep production moving. The best prices can be found through manufacturer subsidies and dealer sales.
• Take advantage of the cold temperatures: Very few people are thinking about boating during the cold of winter. With sales at a low for the year, dealers are ready to make a deal. Use it to your advantage.
